Сектор услуг постоянно расширяется на фоне сокращения производственного и сельскохозяйственного секторов. Service sector). Экономическое значение каждого из этих секторов меняется в зависимости от уровня экономического развития страны. Большая часть экономики развивающихся стран, например, приходится на сырьевой сектор, в то время как в развитых странах преобладает промышленный сектор и сектор услуг, причем все сильнее проявляется тенденция увеличения доли ВНП, приходящейся на сектор услуг, и снижения доли промышленного сектора.
